This is one satisfied customer at last Saturday’s Pancake Breakfast at Applebee’s on Highway 119 in Pelham. The breakfast was sponsored by the Heart of Dixie Harley Owners Group to benefit Owens House, the Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center. Little Corine Crawford joined her daddy, Barron Crawford and her granddaddy, Robert Crawford for the event to show their support and enjoy the pancakes!
Owens House staff members Helen Rardin and Carole Robbins were at Applebee’s bright and early for the “kitchen orientation” to learn about how to serve and wait on customers. Board members Sheriff Chris Curry, Ferrell Housley, Judy Gallups, and Mike Ousley displayed their skills by serving pancakes and coffee and busing tables! Everyone had a great time and the people from Applebee’s are fantastic! They have a great crew and the kitchen runs smoothly. Volunteers from the HOG chapter also waited on tables until everyone was full of pancakes and sausage! Then the HOG chapter presented Owens House with more than $1,100 to support their work with children who are victims of child abuse in Shelby County.
Thanks to everyone who purchased a ticket and to all those who came out on a cold Saturday morning to help a worthy cause.
